A meeting to explore the feasibility of holding a Summit in Georgia is being held in Atlanta on Thursday August 26, 2010.
At the feasibility meeting, the attendees will decide whether to create a 60 Summits type event for Georgia. Here are the specifics for the meeting:
Date and time: Thursday, August 26 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
Location: The offices of Select Medical Corporation at 1140 Hammond Drive, Bldg D, Suite #4260, Atlanta, GA 30328
Lunch is being provided courtesy of Select Medical. They need to know you are coming, so please RSVP.
We don't know whether we will be able to include remote participants by conference call. When you RSVP, let us know if that's your only option.
At the feasibility meeting, Dr. Jennifer Christian will review the highlights of the paper Preventing Needless Work Disability by Helping People Stay Employed; discuss The 60 Summits Project and how it works; and paint a picture of what a Georgia multi-stakeholder summit might look like. As a group, we will then explore these questions:
Could a multi-stakeholder Summit serve as the catalyst for "upgrading" the SAW/RTW process in workplaces, medical offices, and insurance companies throughout Georgia? If yes, are other good outcomes possible as well?
Would it be feasible to produce a Summit in Georgia? Do we have enough interest, people, and potential resources now available to make it happen here? What are the next steps?
If you would like to attend, please RSVP using this web link.
