SUGGESTIONS

Details: The 1st Annual Meeting of The 60 Summits Project Alliance

The 1st Annual Meeting of the 60 Summits Alliance is scheduled for November 16-18 at the University of Nevada's Alumni Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Our meeting days are just prior to the beginning of the LRP National Workers' Comp & Disability Conference.

The nickname for this 60 Summits Alliance Meeting is "the gathering of the clan" - and by clan we mean everyone who's already been active in The 60 Summits Project, or who is attracted to learning more about it.

Please join us if you are uncomfortable with the status quo. We're out to improve both the human and the financial outcomes of workers' compensation and disability benefits programs by changing the way the stay-at-work and return-to-work (SAW/RTW) process operates. The mission of The 60 Summits Project is to propagate the new work disability prevention paradigm as a way of doing just that!

The agenda of our 1st Alliance meeting is focused on providing pertinent information, practical advice, and tools you can really put to use in your own efforts to improve the SAW/RTW process, plus a lot of time for mutual support, encouragement, and networking. There are general sessions as well as three breakout tracks. Featured items include:

  • A panel session with leaders from several local groups where you will learn what participating in The 60 Summits process has meant for them, and describing their challenges as they lead their group towards its next steps.
  • A "mini-Summit" for those who want to experience what goes on at our local events.
  • A workshop to build your mastery in reading people, finding common ground and "getting to yes" - since persuasive communications is so critically important when you are working across silos or in a multi-stakeholder environment.
  • A "speed dating for innovators" event in which people who are looking for solutions that improve the SAW/RTW process will have a series of 10 minute dialogues with companies that offer innovative products and services.

We've got sessions tailored especially for you if ...

... you are curious about or might want to get involved in The 60 Summits Project. You will:

  • Be introduced to the work disability prevention paradigm and other key ideas that are the framework for this initiative;
  • Participate in a "mini-Summit" so you can get a feel for what really happens at a Summit;
  • Get to know some of the remarkable people to whom this Project appeals;
  • Leave inspired, with new ideas, new relationships, and a list of action steps you have committed to take that will create positive changes in your own organization, business relationships, and/or community!

... you'd like to stay connected with The 60 Summits Project because you have already attended one of our Summits or are part of a group that is planning one. You will:

  • Have a chance to celebrate, commiserate, network, and cross-fertilize with colleagues in your own 60 Summits group as well as those from other jurisdictions;
  • Deepen your mastery at communicating effectively, making things happen, and producing results in a multi-stakeholder environment;
  • Make progress in one or more of the Summit-related projects you have on your "to do" list;
  • Co-create the future of the Alliance by articulating a longer term vision of what we are all up to, and defining the kind of support you would like from the national staff;
  • Leave re-inspired, energized, and better prepared to make good things happen in the next year in your own organization, business relationships, and/or community!

Hotel Information

You can reserve a room at the Las Vegas Hilton at the LRP National Workers' Comp and Disability Conference rate of $172, which is good from November 14 through 23. There are many other even more reasonable hotels within a three mile radius of the Alumni Center, among them another Hilton property with studios and one-bedroom suites available by the day adjacent to the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel. To get a good rate, MAKE YOUR ROOM RESERVATION SOON because Las Vegas is going to be very busy in November.
